Custom Closets for Chelsea Homes, Old and New
Chelsea has a way of mixing old and new. You can walk past the Jiffy mix silos and the Purple Rose Theatre downtown, then drive a few minutes out and find neighborhoods that went up much more recently. The closets in those homes are just as different, and that is exactly why we build every system to fit the room in front of us.
Older homes near downtown
Houses with some history tend to have smaller closets, sloped ceilings, and walls that are not quite square. A stock kit fights all of that. We measure each wall, design around the quirks, and cut every panel to fit, so the finished closet looks like it was always part of the house. If the old wire shelving or wood rod is still hanging in there, taking it out is included.
Newer builds outside town
Newer homes usually come with bigger primary closets and a pantry, but the builder shelving is often one long shelf and one long rod. That leaves a lot of wall doing nothing. We add drawer banks, double hang, shoe shelves and full-height bays so the space you paid for actually gets used.

How it works from Chelsea
Drew comes out to your home, measures, and talks through how you use the space. You get a 3D design to review, and once you approve it, most projects are installed within 2 to 3 weeks. Install is usually a single day, and Todd or Drew walks the finished closet with you before we leave. We are also a member of the Closet Institute of America, a trade association for independent closet and storage businesses.

FAQ
- My Chelsea home is older and the closet walls are not square. Can you still build a custom system?
- Yes. We measure every wall and cut each panel to fit, so uneven walls and odd corners are part of the design, not a problem.
- Do you remove the old shelving?
- Yes. Removing existing shelving is included.
- Is Chelsea too far out for you?
- No. Chelsea is in our regular service area. Drew comes to you for the consultation and our team handles the install.
- Can I see finishes before I decide?
- Yes. Visit our Ann Arbor showroom at 806 Airport Blvd, Ste 1. Bring rough measurements to the nearest half foot and your phone is accurate enough for that.
